Hardwood Flooring Installers and Refinishers
For beautiful floors: Hardwoods. What else?
For many of us, hardwood flooring is the Rolls Royce of flooring choices. Our reasons usually include the beautiful patina offered only by aged hardwoods, the natural material, durability, and the ability to refinish it over and over. The only downside is cost: installing hardwood floors is expensive--in today´s market about $4 a square foot for the flooring and about $3 a square foot for labor. The cost may vary depending on region, availability of materials, and labor rates in your area. A ballpark estimate for a small 10x10 bedroom would run approximately $650-$800.
Hardwood flooring is usually installed using a nail gun. While it´s not difficult when watching someone install the floor, there are tricks installers learn through experience that makes hiring them worth the time and money.
To make sure you hire a qualified installer, ask for references, then check them. If licensing or certification is required in your state, obtain copies of licenses, as well as proof of insurance coverage. Finally, ask your installer for written warranties on the installation.
